HEALTH CENTRE

                       

The Health Centre of the Gandhigram Rural Institute Deemed University started to function from 22.12.1997.  The Kasturba Hospital, Gandhigram is helping GRI to extend medical service to the community.  Every day the centre is kept opened from 4.00 pm to 6.00 pm.  A team of one doctor and two nurses visit the centre and offer service to students and staff who come seeking medical help.  During 2004-2005, 2800 members were benefited and it includes women students, men students ( both hostellers and dayscholars, research scholars, and staff (teaching and non teaching).   In the beginning  of each year a complete medical checkup is given to all the freshers.  Each student pays Rs.75/-(Rs.seventy five only) per year towards this service.  Simple ailments are treated in the centre and when hospitalization is required the students are admitted in ARMS and very reasonable charges are collected from the members.  The students get health advise also in addition to medical treatment.
