GRI Freedom Fighter Art Gallerywasinaugurated by Sri Dharmendra Pradhan,HonorableMinister for Education to mark the 75th Anniversary of Independence, Azadi ka Amirit Mahotsav. GRI was founded by great freedom fighters and dedicated disciples of Mahatma Gandhi. It is a heritage centre of the Indian freedom struggle and Gandhian movement in Tamil Nadu.This gallery is a humble tribute to the Department of Political Science and Development Administrationto the memory of the great sons and daughters of Tamil Nadu who sacrificed their livesfor the cause of the freedom of India. SardharVedaratnam Pillai, Ramasamy Reddiyar, Kumarasamy Raja, K. Kamaraj, Bakthavatchalam, U.Muthuramalinga Thevar, P.Kakkan, Fareedul Zama, Laxmi Shegal, Dr.J.C.Kumarappa, T.S. This is an expandable, dynamic gallery. The gallery has many unknown freedom fighters also. This gallery has the portraits of only very few freedom fighters of TamilNadu. India achieved freedom by the sacrifice of thousands and thousands of many more unknown freedom fighters and patriots.
