Started as the Centre for Gandhian Thought and Peace Science during the academic year 1983-84. It was transformed into a full-fledged Department of Gandhian Thought and Peace Science during the academic year 1993-94. The department has been involved in teaching, research and extension activities, besides focusing its attention in different facets of Gandhian Thought, Rural Reconstruction, Peace Science, Inter-faith Relations and Conflict Management. The Department is currently offering an M.A Programme in Gandhian Studies and Peace Science and Ph.D Programme.
