The erstwhile Centre for Gandhian Studies and Peace Science (1983-84) was converted into a full-fledged Department of Gandhian Thought and Peace Science during 1993-94. The department has been involved in teaching, research and extension activities, besides focusing its attention in different facets of Gandhian Philosophy, Gandhian Social Work, Rural Reconstruction, Peace Science, Conflict Management
